About Apple Shooter

Apple Shooter is a browser archery game built on a single nerve-wracking premise: your friend stands across the level with an apple balanced on their head, and you must shoot it off with a bow and arrow. The friend's distance increases with each successful shot, and the trajectory arc of the arrow lengthens and curves more dramatically as range increases. Miss the apple and hit your friend, and the round ends rather unpleasantly.

The shot mechanic uses a click-and-drag system: pull back further for more power, adjust up or down for elevation. At close distances the arc is minimal and the shot is straightforward. At long distances the arc drops significantly and requires aiming above the apple to account for gravity. The wind variable in some levels adds a lateral component to the calculation.

Staying Accurate at Distance

The most common mistake at long range is under-elevating — players aim directly at the apple and wonder why the arrow lands short every time. At maximum distances, aim roughly 30-40% above the target to account for drop. Use the previous shot's landing position as feedback for the correction needed: if the arrow landed in the friend's shoulder, you need to elevate slightly; if it flew over the apple, reduce elevation fractionally. Small adjustments produce large trajectory changes at extreme ranges.
