Baldi's Basics Plus is the expanded, more fully developed version of the original Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning, representing the game's evolution from a short game jam project into a full release. The school is significantly larger, with multiple floors and a greater variety of room types — gymnasiums, science labs, storage areas, and outdoor courtyards all appear alongside the original classroom corridors. Notebook collection remains the objective, but the extended layout makes navigation and route planning more complex.

The character roster is expanded with new additions who each bring distinct mechanics. Random event modifiers activate periodically during runs, changing the rules of the school temporarily — a fire drill clears hallways of characters briefly, a fog event reduces visibility, and other events alter item availability or character speeds. These randomisers prevent the school layout memorisation strategies that made the original too predictable after several runs.

Building on the Original

Baldi's Basics Plus is the version that addresses every criticism of the original's limited scope while preserving the original's identity. The random event system is the most significant gameplay addition — learning to adapt to mid-run rule changes rather than relying on memorised patterns extends the skill ceiling significantly. For players who mastered the original, Plus offers enough new challenge to justify returning. For new players, the expanded tutorial options make the learning curve more accessible than the original's sink-or-swim introduction.
