About Cards of the Undead

Cards of the Undead is a strategic card battle game set in a zombie apocalypse. You build and play a deck of survivor hero cards, weapon cards, and tactical action cards to defeat progressively harder waves of zombie enemy cards. Combat is turn-based: you deploy cards from your hand each turn to attack zombie cards or establish defensive positions, and the zombies advance and attack in return. Surviving until the end of each stage requires both deck construction before the battle and flexible tactical decisions during it.

The deck-building element separates this from pure battle card games. Between stages you choose new cards to add to your deck from random selections, slowly shaping it toward a coherent strategy. Synergy between survivor abilities and weapon bonuses is the primary reward for thoughtful selection — a deck that pairs characters with weapon types that match their skill bonuses consistently outperforms a deck with individually stronger cards that don't interact.

Deck Building Priorities

Early in a run, prioritise consistency over power. A deck that reliably deploys at least one effective attack each turn survives longer than a swingy deck that draws its powerful combos occasionally. Action cards that clear multiple low-health zombie cards simultaneously are consistently more valuable than single-target high-damage cards, because zombie waves scale in number faster than in individual health. Keep deck size controlled — adding every good card makes the deck too large to draw key combinations when you need them.
