Dark Ninja
About Dark Ninja
Dark Ninja is a fast-paced stealth platformer where you control a ninja infiltrating heavily guarded fortresses. The stealth mechanic is movement-based rather than vision-cone based: alerts trigger from sound rather than sight, so sprinting through guard proximity is as dangerous as triggering a laser trip. The platforming is fluid and responsive — wall runs, double jumps, and dash attacks chain together naturally, and the game encourages stylish movement over cautious plodding.
The mission objectives vary: some require eliminating every guard silently, others demand reaching an extraction point without triggering a single alert. The different objective types change which aspect of the ninja's toolkit you lean into — silent elimination missions favour waiting and precision timing; extraction missions favour route planning and exploiting gaps in patrol coverage.
Movement and Stealth
Guards have a detection range that shortens significantly when you're crouched and still. Use elevated ledges and pipe systems to move above guard eye level whenever a patrol route makes ground-level movement risky. The dash move generates sound on landing; use it to cross open spaces quickly but land near cover rather than open floor. Alert levels reset if you can find cover and wait — a partial alert that didn't identify your location is recoverable; a full alert that sends reinforcements is not.
