FNF Flip Side is a Friday Night Funkin' mod that flips the standard game's premise — Boyfriend becomes the antagonist and the new playable character is an original rival who challenges him. The mod rewrites the context of the existing weeks from this inverted perspective, using the same core mechanics with entirely new songs, charts, and dialogue sequences that reflect the story from what was previously the other side of the microphone.

The original soundtrack is the mod's primary draw. Flip Side's composers designed songs that contrast stylistically with their base-game counterparts — where the original Boyfriend's songs trend toward confident funk and hip-hop, Flip Side's protagonist tracks pick up jazz and alternative rock influences that give each confrontation a distinct tonal identity.

Difficulty and Charts

Flip Side is designed with moderate to hard chart complexity throughout. The early weeks are accessible to players comfortable with the base game's Week 4-5 difficulty. Later songs introduce two-handed patterns with simultaneous left-right arrow combinations that require clean hand coordination.
