About Maze: Path of Light

Maze: Path of Light is a first-person maze navigation game with a distinctive visual aesthetic — the walls glow, the floors are dark, and the maze geometry creates striking patterns of light and shadow as you move through corridors. Navigation is purely first-person: there's no overhead minimap, no breadcrumb trail, and no visual indicator pointing toward the exit. You find your way by reading the environment, remembering your turns, and using the light effects that hint at openings ahead.

The maze generation is procedural for each play session, which means repeat plays always produce different layouts. Difficulty tiers control maze complexity — introductory levels have shorter paths with wider corridors; advanced levels produce large, intricate labyrinths with decoy paths that lead to dead ends designed to look like promising routes.

Navigation Strategy

The right-hand rule is the most reliable basic strategy for maze navigation: keep your right hand in contact with the wall at all times and follow it. This guarantees you'll find the exit eventually in simply-connected mazes, though complex mazes with internal islands require a modified approach. The light glow intensity increases slightly in corridors that lead to the exit — this is a subtle visual hint that becomes readable with practice and eliminates the need for systematic wall-following in simpler mazes.
