Penalty Shooter 2
About Penalty Shooter 2
Penalty Shooter 2 is a two-phase penalty football game where you take both roles in each round — shooting against the AI goalkeeper, then switching sides to control the goalkeeper against the AI shooter. The dual-role structure means no round is purely passive, and the outcome depends on performance in both phases rather than just one. This format prevents the frustration of a perfectly executed shootout being determined entirely by random AI goalkeeper diving.
The shooting mechanic uses a power arc and directional control that rewards corner targeting with extra power to beat low dives and precise upper-corner placement to beat upright-jumping keepers. The goalkeeping phase reads the AI's shot build-up animation for directional tells and requires a committed dive before the ball is struck.
Reading the Goalkeeper AI
In keeper mode, the AI shooter's run-up animation has a subtle lean that indicates shot direction about 400 milliseconds before impact — if you can read it, you can make a late dive that still covers the right side. For the shooting phase, the goalkeeper AI applies a strong-side tendency that becomes readable after your first three shot outcomes: if it successfully saved your left-sided shots twice, it's reading left as your tendency and will bias its dive that direction — correct by targeting the right side for the remaining kicks.
