About Squish Run

Squish Run is a reaction-speed platformer where your character runs automatically and you control only timing of a jump and a squish (crouch) action. Obstacles require one of two inputs: jump over tall blockers, or squish under low-overhead barriers. The obstacle timing window is narrow, particularly for squish actions which must be held through the obstacle rather than briefly tapped, and the run speed increases continuously without a floor.

The obstacle variety expands beyond simple over-under decisions in later sections: combination obstacles require a jump immediately followed by a mid-air squish to clear a two-part barrier sequence; delayed obstacles require holding squish through a tunnel before jumping at the tunnel's end over a secondary obstacle. These combinations are the game's skill ceiling.

Reaction vs. Reading

Squish Run cannot be played purely on reaction at high speeds — the input window closes before a reaction-based response can register. The correct approach is to read obstacles three to four positions ahead of your current location and pre-queue the input before your character reaches the trigger point. This reads counterintuitively — you'll feel like you're acting too early — but results in dramatically better survival rates beyond the 60-second mark.
