About The Sniper Code

The Sniper Code is a sniper puzzle game where your shooting objective on each mission is determined by decoding a cipher briefing rather than receiving explicit target identification. You're given a scope view of a populated environment — a street scene, a courtyard, a crowded plaza — and must decode the briefing to determine which target to eliminate, which to spare, and sometimes what sequence of environmental events to trigger before taking the final shot.

The cipher system uses several different code types across the mission set: simple letter substitution, number-to-letter mapping, pattern recognition, and multi-step decode sequences where the first decode gives you a key that decodes the actual briefing. Each mission's cipher type is indicated by a small icon in the briefing header that corresponds to the code type used.

Cipher-First Approach

Fully decode the briefing before picking up the rifle. Partial decodes followed by tentative shots are the most common failure mode in The Sniper Code — the penalty for eliminating a civilian is permanent and cannot be undone like other mistakes. Pay particular attention to the sequential decode missions where the first output is a cipher key rather than a target description; these are the most rewarding to solve but require treating the decode as two separate problems rather than one.
