About Getaway Shootout

Getaway Shootout is a hilarious physics-based multiplayer brawler where you and your opponents all race to reach the same getaway vehicle — helicopter, truck, or boat. The catch: you can only move by hopping, and weapons spawn randomly across the arena.

Play against the AI or challenge a friend in two-player local mode. Each round is a chaotic scramble of rockets, grenades, and power-ups — perfect for quick competitive sessions.

How to Play

Player 1 uses W to jump left/right and E to use items. Player 2 uses I to jump and O to use items. Grab weapons that appear on floating platforms, eliminate opponents, and be the first to reach the extraction point.

Grenade timing is everything — a well-placed grenade near the getaway vehicle can eliminate a competitor at the last second. Positioning high gives you both a view advantage and gravity-assisted jumps downward.

Controls

  • W: Player 1 jump (alternating left/right)
  • E: Player 1 use weapon/item
  • I: Player 2 jump
  • O: Player 2 use weapon/item

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play Getaway Shootout online with friends?

The browser version supports local 2-player on the same keyboard. For online play, both players need to be at the same physical device.

How do I pick up weapons?

Walk or jump over a weapon pickup to collect it automatically. Use E (P1) or O (P2) to fire.

Tips & Strategies

Don't sprint directly toward the goal — weapons respawn on platforms, and grabbing a rocket launcher changes the entire round. Patience near weapon spawns pays off.

The hop mechanic means you need to alternate your key presses rhythmically. Mashing the key won't speed you up; a steady rhythm gives you more directional control.
